Trailtor Card Game

Objective: Trailtor is a card game where players compete using their own completed real-life trail cards. The objective is to strategically select and play cards with attributes such as distance, climb elevation, difficulty, and more, aiming to outdo opponents and eliminate their cards.

Materials:

  • Trailtor cards (10 to 30 cards per player)
  • The Trailtor to check the player has completed the real life trail on Trailtor (For the more competitive players)
  • Players (2 or more)

Setup:

  1. Each player gathers their own set of completed real-life trail cards.
  2. Players sit in a circle, and each player places their deck face-down in front of them.
  3. Decide on the order of play (e.g., clockwise).
  4. Choose a player to start the game.

Gameplay:

  1. The starting player selects a card from their deck and places it face-up in the center of the table.
  2. The player chooses a trail attribute (e.g., distance, climb elevation, difficulty) from their card and announces it to the other players. The player can also give a brief summary of the trail.
  3. The other players then compare the announced attribute with the corresponding attribute on their own cards.
  4. The player with the highest value for the announced attribute wins the round and the losing cards cannot be played again. Losing cards are placed face up in front of their player.
  5. If there is a tie, the tied players draw one additional card each from their deck and compare the announced attribute again. The winner of this tiebreaker eliminates the other cards.
  6. The winner of the round starts the next round by selecting a card and announcing a new attribute.
  7. Play continues clockwise until only one player has cards remaining.
  8. The player with the most cards at the end of the game is declared the winner.
  9. The winner then choses from all cards played which trail would be their next trail if they could choose any.
